Using only a blender and a few ingredients, this vegan peppermint shake is so easy to make. It's a great treat for the holidays or anytime of the year!

Ingredients you will need

  • Vegan Vanilla Ice Cream
  • Non-Dairy Milk - Coconut milk works great!
  • Chocolate - Dark chocolate with no dairy. One bar is enough.
  • Candy Canes - Vegan candy canes. Extras to place in glasses.
  • Peppermint Extract - To add more peppermint flavor.
  • Vegan Whipped Cream - Almond or Coconut Cream for topping.
  • Cherries - For garnish.
  • Plant-Based Red Food Coloring - Optional for more color.

steps to make vegan peppermint milkshakes

Tips

  • If you like the consistency of your shakes thinner, slowly add more milk until it is as desired.
  • You can remove or add chocolate to fit your preference! We would suggest somewhere between 1/4 cup and 1/2 cup chocolate in total.
  • Let the ice cream thaw for 15 minutes so it's easier to measure.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups vegan vanilla ice cream
  • 1/2 cup non-dairy milk
  • 1/3 cup grated chocolate, about 3/4 bar
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 6 candy canes
  • vegan whipped cream, topping
  • cherries, garnish
  • plant-based red food coloring, optional

Instructions

  1. Break apart each candy cane into a few pieces and place in a blender. Pulse until broken into small pieces.
  2. Add non dairy milk, grated chocolate, vegan ice cream and peppermint extract. Pulse until mixed well. If using food coloring, add a few drops and pulse together again. Repeat until shake is light pink.
  3. Pour into 3 cups and top with vegan whipped cream. Add a candy cane and a cherry to each for garnish.
